Re: Save Port Gibson
In Response To: Re: Save Port Gibson ()

I am a native of Kentucky, but have been visiting Port Gibson since 1969 when I was 15 years old. I was HORRIFIED to learn of MDOT's plan to destroy the beauty of Church Street, not to mention all the other negative ramifications this BAD decision brings to historic Port Gibson.

Incidentally, I work in the pipe organ business here in Louisville where the Pilcher pipe organ of the First Presbyterian Church was built in 1930. Because pipe organs are very affected not only by temperature, but by other factors such as heavy VIBRATIONS, the pipe organs in the churches will be very difficult to keep in tune!

My prayers are with the wonderful people of Port Gibson as you strive to save your BEAUTIFUL town! Fight the good fight with all your might!
