Requesting any info on Capt. Elias Jefferson Maret, Co.F 45th.(3Bttn.)Mississippi Infantry, C.S.A.
Capt. Maret enlisted 9 Oct. 1861 and was discharged 26 April 1865. He was born 7 March 1834 in Pickens Dist. S.C.and died 9 Oct. 1917 at Potts Camp, Marshall County Ms.
Son of Benjamin West Maret and Lucinda Williams Hodges.
Buried in Cornersville Ms. Cemetery.
After the war he was a school teacher, lawyer, civil engineer, Mason, Methodist, member of lower house of Mississippi Legislature. He was raised near Fair Play, S.C. but not sure when he moved to Marshall, Ms. where his father had moved. He was the son of my G.G.G. Grandfather's brother. Any info on him especially his Confederate service appreciated.
