Co B, 31 MS Inf Reg

My maternal gr-gr-grandfather Drury Hodges enlisted in CO B, 31 MS Inf Reg but apparently could not fulfill his duties. I don't know if he became ill or was injured but not long after his enlistment, he returned home to Choctaw County, MS. I have his service records which reveal that he came home because of illness during the early stages of the War. Some time after 1870 he died, possibly in Choctaw County. I have not found his grave. I do know that his wife Jenetta moved to Attala County (possibly following his death) and was living next door to her uncle George W. Hodges in 1880. She had two children at home - Thomas and Nancy. She also joined the New Salem Baptist Church in Attala County, leaving the primitive Baptist Church in Choctaw County.

Anyone know anything more about him - his illness or injury or anything about his service in Co B?
