No need to apologize. Boundaries are those established by Jim Martin listed at the top of this page, and you are well within those. Of course letters could have been written after going out of service, but as Mitch points out in his post, term of service could have been longer. Each state had laws establishing the longest period of service possible. Along those lines, these commands would have reported to the Governor of Mississippi rather than a Confederate commander.
