Since my earlier post, I have found a little bit more information on this soldier but would be interested in what anyone else can fill in. Thanks!

Here's what I've found:
He was captured on May 13, 1863 at Poutchatoula LA.

One document states: "Indorsement shows: New Orleans, May 23, 1863. The above (14) fourteen Choctaw Indians, Confederate Prisoners of War, were delivered to Captain Nott, A.D.C. to P.M.G. by him to be taken North by the way of Boston and New York, there to be held subject to the orders of the Provost Marshal General at Washington D.C." "Paroled" is also listed under remarks. However, I find that part questionable because of the second document.

2nd document: Roll of Prisoners of War sent from Fort Columbus, New York Harbor, to New Orleans, LA, October 3, 1863.
