The famous George Moorman

I did NOT know until recently that General George Moorman of the famed 24 Mississippi Cavalry Battalion was the brains behind the UCV which turned into what's now known as the SCV. George Moorman was captured at Fort Donelson,TN and taken prisoner to Camp Chase, Ohio where he was parolled. He reported to Governor Todd everyday while living in Columbus, Ohio NOT far from the Governor's Manison. He was given parole in Columbus for helping a wounded Yankee at Fort Donelson in the field by giving him water. Stanton himself gave him the parole. However, when the Chase prisoners were transferred to Johnson's Island so too was George Moorman.

My question to anyone here is What unit did George Moorman belong to at Fort Donelson? Thx in advance
