Hello. J. L. Boyd, of Oktibbeha County, MS, applied for a pension in September 1900 but I suspect that he died before he received actual payment. He was unmarried and had no "legal" hiers. Any idea how I can verify that payment was ever issued and more importantly, who, if anyone, notified the Confederate Pension Board of his death. His grave registration is listed as June 1900, which coincides with his appearance on 1900 census.
