William Jasper Renick Pvt E Company 14th Miss was his granddaddy he knew well. A. J. Renick Company I, 2 nd Mississippi Reserve Cavalry (State) Citizen's Guards of Tippah County is his great uncle. This unit was consolidated with the 15th TN Cav under Gen N.B. Forrest. Thomas J. Renick, Pvt. H Company, Tippah Farmers, 34th Mississippi Inf. Was his great uncle. James Titus Renick, buried at Pine Grove in Benton County, was my Dad's great Granddaddy, 2 nd Miss Infantry Regiment, Company D, (Joe Matthews Rifles/Becks Rifles of Tippah County). We found at Bethel graveyard next to William Jasper and A.J. Renick the grave of John Renick, Co. G 2 Miss Cav CSA (and we don't know who he is), but I remember 30 years ago we checked Mississippi Archives and they have a record of John Reneck (misspelled), Co. G 2 Miss Cav. This must be the same person as John Reneck 21st Mississippi Inf, Company "G". I found 2 foot notes about one of the 2nd Miss Cav (which 2nd I don't know), (1) "G" Miss State Troop, this company was changed from State to Confederate and a different footnote (2) some of the 2nd Mississippi Cav consodidated into the 4th Miss Cav and the 7th Miss cav. My Family names are Renick, Beal, Crump and Crouch. I don't know what relation John (Reneck)Renick is to all of these Renick's buried at Bethel and Pine Grove Church, (now Benton Country), Then Tippah County Mississippi.
