It would be really interesting to see what a couple of real desperadoes looked like, accompanied by a tinny, melodramatic parlor piano in the background.

Although such events were anything but amusing to the folks of the time, and there certainly wouldn't have been many laffs emanating from the Browns had they been apprehended by the colonel's former comrades in arms.
