Jim,

I ordered and have received from you the "Service Records" of my g-g-grandfather, Lindsey P. Partridge. These records are identical to those I had ordered from MS Dept. of Archives and History, but your records are much, much clearer, and I was able to find my error on his cause and place of death. On the records I already had, the words "Where" he died as well as "Cause" of death had a shadow on the copy and so I read it: "Cleaveland Disease." In actuality it reads: Where, and the answer is "Cleaveland" and the Cause is "Disease." So you are correct in that area.

Now, I would love to have a Confederate stone for his grave, but his year of birth might not be correct, since it is not shown on these records, and this is all we have. I do notice, however that his age upon enlistment is 27 on April 15,1861, but on October 5,1861, his age is 25. He died one year later, so I suppose he was 26 when he died, making his year of birth 1836, and his year of death 1862 (November 17). This is the best I can do.

If this is not good enough information, do let me know.
