Mozelle,

My group, who takes care of the Silverdale Confederate Cemetery, has ordered tombstones with only years for birth and death dates. Two other members of the Eight Mississippi who died here in 1862 have stones in this cemetery. If you would like we can proceed with trying to get one for Lindsey P. Partridge, born 1836 and died 1862. Although we know the exact date of his death, the Veterans Administration won't mix formats(only a year for one and month/day/year for the other). There were many soldiers who falsified their age on enlistment for many reasons.

Go to the CARHA.ORG site for pictures, etc. Mail a good copy of his service records to us and after we get all the paperwork in order and apply, it takes several weeks for the stone to come. Include direct mail or phone contact information, please.

Jerry
