I'm looking for information about the 33rd Mississippi company called "Holmesville Guards." (Co. E, Pike County, MS)
I have several names of relatives who were on the muster rolls but am more interested in which battles they took part in. I have an ancestor, Levi Richmond Rushing, who appears on the rolls but who also had several small children at the time.I'm curious as to whether he would have served close to home or in Georgia. His brother, Silas Rushing, was captured at Peachtree Creek, GA, on July 20, 1864, and subsequently died at Camp Douglas. Any information you can give me about the Holmesville Guards will be appreciated.
