One of the cousins of which I spoke has also been to the Fort Pillow State Park. He lives in Tennessee. He thinks there could be two burial grounds there but is not sure. Do you know if there is a marker of any kind for the Confederate dead? We can find a marker for the Union dead, which were moved at a later date. We have not been successful in finding a marker for the Confederate dead. We are finding it hard to believe that they were buried there. We have been all over the Fort Pillow website with no results.

I do thank you for your help.

Nancy
