Three of my wife’s great grandfather Elias Harris Presley’s brothers were captured near Morton on February 8, 1864. Thomas Turner Presley and John Madison Presley were both members of Co. C, 6th Mississippi Infantry, and Andrew Jenkins Presley was a member of Co. F, 33rd Mississippi Infantry. I know that their commands were near Morton on Feb.8th, but I can’t find where either was involved in any action. Can anyone shed any light on the circumstance of their capture? Two of the brothers would die in Union POW camps.
