I found a listing on Ancestry for Sylvanus S. Johnson for the First MS. Reg., Co. K. Oral history states that he and his brother William Daniel Johnson both died in the Civil War. They were born in Alabama but were living in Itawamba County, Mississippi when the war started. I found no unit for William Daniel. Both were married. Do you have any information on these two soldiers? Thank you.
