I'm searching for information on McClung's Riflemen (Co. E, 19th MS Infantry). My Great-grandfather, Jeptha P. Harris served with this company as a Sgt. He was wounded at the Wilderness.
Is there enough information about Mississippi Infantry Companies at Jackson, MS to make a trip there worthwhile (from central Arkansas)? I have his muster cards, but would like to find enlistment papers or anything that would give any info. I have no idea what or how much information was saved in MS.
I posted a query a couple of years ago, but maybe there's something new out there. Any info on this would be appreciated. I listed my website below, showing what I have now.
