You are asking about the wrong man. If your ancestor was living in 1860, he would have been sixty-six years of age. Captain William H. Dillingham was about half that age, lived in Corinth MS and was born in Tennessee. With some exceptions, most Confederate soldiers were between the ages of eighteen and thirty-five. Some were a little younger and others a little older, but men over fifty years of age were rarely involved with the military.
