It's always great to hear from a descendant of the "Immortal Seventh". We are very familiar with the William J. Bass diary. His accounts of the action are some of the most thorough and accurate of any official records and in some cases more accurate. Mitchell Sanders and I have transcribed the diary and have included most of it in the manuscript for the regimental history of the 7th Miss. Your knowledge of the family and local history would be very useful.
