My GGG-Grandfather was also in the 26th Mississippi Company C as a private under Stephen. I have no more info I can add about Stephen, but would email me ( mp3family@hotmail.com )about the matter in which he was "Assassinated"? I don't live far from Fulton, which Cemetery is he buried? Can I be of any help, living close to Fulton? Have you all ready contacted the proper people for the marker?
