Re: In memory of my Gt.-Grandfather,Samuel Isom Gr

Charlie, I read with great interest your post about your g-g-grandfather, Samuel Green. However, my g-grandfather was named Samuel Isom Green. He was born and raised in Greene County, in the vicinty of Buck Creek( the exact locaion of which is unknown) which was apparently near State Line. His father ,James Green, arrived in MS from England sometime in the the mid -to late 1830s, & somehow ended up in the area of State Line. Samuel Isom settled near Mclain shortly after the War, & eventually bought property in Perry County, just across the county line . When he died 15 August,1915, he was buried in McLain Cemetery. There were several Green families who arrived in MS earlier than James, some of whom settled in the same area as my ancestors. James had a VERY large family, and they all had VERY large families, so there might be a family connection somewhere. I appreciate your interest , and enjoyed hearing from you concerning the Green(s) of Mississippi. Mry Jo
