Re: Coleman's Crossroads, Jefferson Co., Ms

Hal, if you go to http://www.olemiss.edu/depts/general_library/files/archives/collections/guides/latesthtml/MUM00447.html
and type in Coleman in the search box for that page, you'll see in folder 8 there is a recollection of the skirmish at Coleman's Cross Road...contact UML and ask a researcher to pull that document for you...it may give you what you want.

Also, there's a reference to "Coleman's cross roads, near Clifton, Jefferson county" at http://userpages.xfoneusa.net/~moorer/scripts/wwwboard/messages/884.html
Clifton is west of Hwy 61 on Rt 552

the following link http://books.google.com/books?id=3TmmArYduSMC&pg=PA248&dq=%22coleman%27s+cross+roads%22&lr=&as_brr=0&as_pt=ALLTYPES#PPA248,M1 points to soldiers racing down the Port Gibson road....approaching Coleman's cross roads. Apparently they headquartered at the Coleman plantation....worth checking out this too.
