Re: Vicksburg POW sent to Mobile Bay

Mudding up the water more is the fact that the Civil War Research Database and also a website record that he died in Vicksburg. I also saw the note of being aboard the Steamer in Footnote. Who knows.

He is not listed as among the burials at Confederate Rest, Vicksburg City Cemetery. However, we still have over 1000 unidentified there.

On a report certifying that he was on a report of sick and wounded shipped from Vicksburg on the Steamer St. Maurice for Mobile, via New Orleans on July 30,1863 [Compiled Service Record Warren N. Wiginton]
