The regiment fought at Peach Tree Creek on July 20, 1864, the day before during the Atlanta campaign there was a skirmish at Peach Tree Creek and the day before, on the 18thm, there was a skirmish at Buck Head.

The regiment was attached to the brigade of BGen John Adams in MGen Lorings Division.

There is a report in the Official Records of Adams which records Adams engagement on Peach Tree Creek at Moore's Mill. V38, Pt. 3, pp. 891/2

A Federal report notes "July 19, main line crossed Nancy's Creek, Moore's Mill, and a fine ford in our front on Peach Tree Creek. The rebels occupied strong works on opposite side on a ridge completely commanding the mill ford and all its approaches."

There is Georgia Historical Mounment - Battle at Moore's Mill GHM 060-65 Moores Mill Road east of Peachtree Creek, Atlanta
GHM - Georgia Historical Marker [indicating an official state marker erected by the Georgia Historical Commission (1953-1971) or its successor, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (after 1971)
