Thank you George and Alan for your help with this puzzle. The Battle of Peach Tree Creek was the only one that I could find also that fit the date. We are so used to the printed word now, that I sometimes forget that what they had was written out in longhand and sometimes in very poor handwriting! I can easily see how Peach could turn to Pearl and Tree to Thin!!!!!
