Re: POWs at Citronelle
I recently discovered that one of my ancestors, W B Costley of the GA 34th Infantry Regiment, Company C. He, too surrendered on May 4, 1865 in citronelle, AL, and I have records showing he was sent to POW camp in Meridian, MS, where he was later released (says May 12 - would that be the same year??). Fascinating stuff.
