I noticed on the 7th Ms. Infantry that there were several soldiers who received the MEDAL OF HONOR,
at Murfreesboro. The artical did not stipulate what these soldiers did to receive this honor. Does anyone know? I know the Medals were not given due to shortage of metal, but did they get a certificate to receive one if they were ever made and did they have to prove what they did to get the Medal? A list of the soldiers included Peyton W. Rogers,Aleazer Z. Coker,Mathew B. Stringer, Benjamin Drummond, Sgt. George Stewart, and John A. Higginbotham. These soldiers were all at Murfreesboro and some of them were killed in battle.
