Re: Lemuel Sutton - 1793 - 186 ?

Thank you for your input, George. My Father, who is now deceased, told me once that he had seen a picture in a Civil War book that had a fence in the background, a road in the foreground and a field strewn with dead bodies. The caption under the picture said . . . "Colonel Sutton's Last Raid". I have found no reference to a "Colonel Sutton" as a Confederate. I went to the Military Library in Knoxville, TN and spent an entire day looking through all of the pictorial books that were there. I have never seen the picture that my Father was referring to. The name Levi would be a good guess except for the fact that I have some copies of letters that were written to Lemuel from one of his brothers in TX. Thank you again . . .
