Re: Ft. Terror in Noxubee Co. Mississippi?

Thanks for a quick reply.

The only thing that the Noxubee Historical Society's publication ever mentions is the village of Brooklyn that was located just downstream from the "fort" on the west side of the river. And when I lived in Noxubee, I cannot remember anybody mentioning the fort.

They did talk about some of Grieson's troops (Henry Forbes"s company B) at the old "Hurt homestead" and the lost of a Union cannon at a site on the river called the "French Hole", (this was during the occupation). But never any fort.

Do note that back in the '80's I think I stumble across the foundations of the blockhouse at the railroad crossing mention during Forbes's part of Grierson's raid.
