Greg,

I can share with you info on several of my 'kith and kin' who were at Shiloh...

John Marion Kinnison of Co. A - "Franklin Rifles" - 7th Mississippi

Enlisted in Franklin County, MS in August of 1861. In the "List of Casualties" for his regiment, he was shown as being on the 'Right Wing Second Corps' and killed at '7:00 am, gunshot wound to the forehead.' He had been a farm laborer before the war. He was KIA on the second day of Shiloh, 7 April 1862. 20 years old.

John Kinnison Magee, also of Co. A, and a first cousin of JMKinnison, above.

Enlisted Franklin County in May 1861. According to the "List of Casualties", John was killed on the second day, as well, during the Union counter-attack at '9:00 am, shot in mouth.'

David Sullivan Crook, Co. I - "Rankin Greys" - 6th Mississippi

Wounded in thigh, 6 April 1862. During this battle, seven color bearers where killed or wounded, but the flag never lost.

Hope these help.
