Thanks for the info. That rules out Pvt. McKittrick as having been the soldier who was killed at his artillery post by an exploding shell from a Union gunboat. That leaves the question: Who was that soldier who was killed? General William Loring recorded the soldier's death in his official report on the operation -- the only fatality in the operation (as of March 22, I think). I cannot find this man's identity.
