Re: Capt. J. S. Tatum, 36th MS Inf.

Thank you for this information on Capt. J.S. Tatom (Tatum). Then, to answer your previous question. I found his name (Tatum) listed in the Cedar Hill (Soldiers Rest) CSA cemetery at Vicksburg, on the "Findagrave" site.
I have a Tatum (married to my ancestor) is why I looked at his Memorial there. I have not e-mailed the man who posted the Memorial and therefore, do not know how he obtained the info. I did NOT find Capt. Tatum's (Tatom) name listed in the cemetery index either; on the Cedar Hill cemetery sites, it does say there may be others on a partial list in the archive there. I don't know if this man had access to that or not. I wouldn't think there are that many "Capt. J.S. Tatum (Tatoms)" killed at Vicksburg, which leads me to believe he would have been buried in that area, and this could possibly be the same man. Appreciate your reply to help.
