Zebedee Morris, age 20, enlisted as a Private in Captain Hamilton Mayson's Company, Mississippi Volunteers**, July 30 1861 at Columbia/Camp Clack, Bay St. Louis, sent to Oxford sick on Surgeon's Certificate May 7, 1862, died of disease at Oxford, Mississippi June 1862

**This company was successively designated Captain Mayson's Company, Captain Pope's Company, and Company D, 7th Regiment Mississippi Infantry
