Can anyone share with me about Joseph Akin (Aiken) who was a CSA surgeon with MS regiments during the war? I have a CDV photo of him in his uniform that was found in the old Akin family album which I inherited. I would like to know about what unit he was in, where he served, any family he may have had after the war, when and where he died.

I would also like any info about Rev. Samuel David Akin (Joseph's brother) who was a Methodist circuit rider in MS during the war...and may have served as a CSA chaplain there.
