My great, great grand-dad, Samuel Jason Vanlandingham (b. 1828 in SC- d. 1893 near Nacodoches, TX), served as a Private in Company D of the MS 35th Regiment. He was a farmer located near Louisville, Winston County (not certain about the county) moving there from Georgia in 1855. He was captured at the siege of Vicksburg, July 1863 and again later near Kenesaw Mtn in Georgia, April 1865 then released at the War's end and moved to East Texas around 1875. I am curious about the battles and encampments of the 35th Regiment. Any resources available?
