My ggrandfather, Charles Taylor Howell, along with his 3 brothers (Issac Ezekial, Thomas Jefferson, and William) all enlisted in the 39th Miss Infantry, Co C. I can track Charles T and Issac E to Texas where they died in early 1900s and Thomas Jefferson who applied for a Confederate pension in 1910 in Scott Co, Miss. I can find nothing of William other than a notice that he, along with his brothers, were captured at Port Hudson and paroled. Does anyone have knowledge of William Howell, Co C, 39 th Miss Infantry? Where might go for prison or parole records? Thanks
