Hi Sheila,

First, I visited the Vicksburg Battlefield and discovered that he had been there. Then, I ordered copies of his service record from the National Archives. That's when I discovered his second capture on April 16, 1865. All of this was a few years ago and the info is now in storage, not readily at hand. He signed his Pardon at Vicksburg as: S. J. Vanlandingham. I will scrounge around to see if I can find those records and will be happy to share with you.
