The Mississippi in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Civil War Letters John W. Moore-9th Miss. Cav.

Sorry, You had to find out about Art on the board. He was a good guy and always helpful to me in my research.

John W. Moore's letters are excellent. I have been digging into them all day.

He was in the 9th Miss. Cav. formerly the 17th Battn. Miss. Cav. Most of the men mentioned were also in the same units.

I found George Tootle under Tootte in the Soldiers and Sailor's system. Some of the action they describe in the Atlanta Campaign is closely connected to my research on the 7th Miss. Inf. and I would like permission to build an article around the letters.

Please send your mailing address and email address so we can discuss the project.

Have you sent a copy to the Miss. Archives or to Carlisle Barracks where Art was working? I am sure they would like copies of the originals with your transcriptions.
