Hi Paula,

I'm sure I can help you. Can you tell me a little more about James Parker? Where/when he lived, etc. Have you found him in the 1900 Census? The name sounds vaguely familiar, although I keep thinking John Parker. I'm pretty sure he was not a superintendent of the home. If he was, he was one of the ones who didn't last long. If he was an employee, there's probably little to no records on him. However, is it possible he was caretaker of the Beauvoir house and property before it became a soldier's home in 1903, yet after the death of Jefferson Davis in 1889? If he's who I think he may be, I do have a little information, although not a lot and I'll have to find it. I'm afraid to speculate any more until you can give me more information or I can look through my files.
