As for the "Iuka project" you started, I've collected all I can, and followed all the leads that surfaced. The list of those men who'd be the most likely candidates to be buried in the mass grave at Shady Grove Cemetery at Iuka is now posted at the link below.
I've forwarded the data and sources to the local experts in and around Iuka in hopes they will find it useful as they plan their Sesquicentennial efforts for the Battle of Iuka in 2012. I do hope some permanent marker with the collected names is in the future. Those 260+ men buried together in that former "ditch" deserve to be remembered as individuals and as soldiers.
