Service records for C. L. Peyton

My Great Grandfather, Craggin Peyton, joined Company H (Tippah Farmers), 37th Miss Inf Regt (later designated as the 34th Miss Inf Regt, March 10, 1862. I found that his widow received an ex-confederate pension in Johnson County, Arkansas and according to the Index to Arkansas Confederate Pension Applications he died Sep 13, 1862. I have not found that his unit was engaged in battle at or near that time. How can I find out where and how he died and any other information about his war record?
