Therefore, he was born February 23, 1829. The census records of 1850 and 1860 also indicate that he was born in 1829.

The dates inscribed on the gravestone are correct.

On the 1910 Federal Census of Loudoun County, Virginia his wife, Cecelia H. Oden, is listed as a widow.
