S. V. Hudgston/Houston, age 46, resident of Choctaw County, Mississippi, Private, Captain B. L. Lampley's Cavalry Company, 1st Battalion Mississippi Reserve Forces*, enlisted June 27, 1864 at Greensboro by Captain Watson for the War, under the command of Major Jas. Mister, his unit was surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama May 4, 1865 and paroled at Columbus, Miss., May 16.

* This company subsequently became Company C, 1st Regiment Mississippi Cavalry Reserves.

The 1st Regiment Mississippi Cavalry Reserves was formed about September 3, 1864, by the addition of three companies to the seven companies constituting the 1st Battalion Mississippi Cavalry Reserves.
