Well, I may have narrowed William's age down by looking at both the 1850 and 1860 Pontotoc County, Mississippi censuses. The census for 1850 was taken on September 13, 1850 and William on that date, was 9 years old already, so he was probably born before September, right?! Then, looking at the 1860 census, that census was taken on July 25, 1860, and William's age was given as 18, so he apparently had not had another birthday, and I'm guessing that his birthday month was probably in late July or in August because this was 10 years later, and he had not yet turned 19. What do you think about that? Think I could be right? (I hope, I hope).
