I am looking to learn more about Frederick Benteen's men who were left behind at Vicksburg under command of Major Hynes during the

months of May, June, and July of 1864. Benteen eventually got his men out of there and most likely that small detachment joined

the rest of the 10th Mo at the battle of Mine Creek. If you are knowledgeable of this unit or Hynes and can tell me more about the

dispute of Benteen and Hynes please email me or discuss it here. I would like to have suggestions of any manuscripts, or written

details from soldiers who may reference Vicksburg in the summer of 64, or 10th Mo during 1864. I have Harvest of Barren Regrets if

anyone needs anything from that book I will be happy to supply.
