Dr. Yandell was the doctor that Gen. A. S. Johnston sent to attend to wounded Federal troops at Shiloh shortly before he incurred his own mortal wound. There was a Yandell Hospital in Columbus after Shiloh. There was also a Yandell Hospital later in Meridian. I'm not sure if they were two separate facilities operating under the same name at the same time, or simply a relocation. Hopefully someone else here can clarify.
