I have yet to locate the flag they lost at Brice's. I was alerted to its capture by a guy doing a new book on that battle. He found it in some notes for the 81st Illinois Infantry who captured it.

One of their company officers describes it as "their new flag." He further described it as, "the new flag was all white except the blue square with the stars." There were some Second Nationals that had blue cantons instead of the prescribed red.

Nothing else was mentioned.
