Thank you so very much. This soldier's father was Ransom H. Byrne, a large landowner in Ms, & Tn, and had been a Representative from Tunica, Ms. He suffered a stroke, and asked an attorney in Tunica to help him get a furlough for A.M. Byrne to come home to attend to some business dealings on the Plantation. Jefferson Davis granted him a 90 day furlough and after his father died a few weeks later, A.M. went back to his unit and stayed until the war was over.
Thanks so very much for your help. I think that R.T. was killed in the service in 1863, but I have not proven the battle that he was in when he was killed.
