In what little time I have had to look, Washington Kelly is in the 1850 Amite Co census, listed as 17 and a farmer. He is NOT listed in the 1860 census (Amite Co), but some of his siblings still are. I do not show him in any of the Amite County companies. Will look more when I have a chance.
