A New Post on the 38th Mississippi Infantry

I just posted a new article on James Henry Jones, Captain of the "Wilkinson Guards," Company D, 38th Mississippi Infantry, and later lieutenant colonel of the regiment. The article can be found at my blog here: http://mississippiconfederates.wordpress.com/

Colonel Jones suffered from the war more than most - all three of his younger brothers served under his command, one being killed at Vicksburg, and the other two at Harrisburg. Jones himself was lucky to survive the Battle of Harrisburg, taking canister shot in both legs.
