Wow, found another article of May 27, 1904, Richmond Times Dispatch that give more info on Iverson Batchelor. He was deceased by this time.
Mrs. Bushnell "remembers hearing Mr. Ives Batchelor (should be Ive) say that the flag was made by a very dear friend of his." No mention of who the friend was but no doubt a woman. The article states that Batchelor was in the PCA and although I have no record of him I have found many who are not listed on the various muster rolls. The article also says his brother Dr. Albert A. Batchelor was also in the PCA but I know this is not correct according to Confederate records. He was in Virginia.
